Budgie

Description:

Short for Budgerigar, the word Budgie is Australian. Translated roughly it means "good to eat." They are 18 centimeters long and weigh anywhere from 26-29 grams. They have a green body, blue tail and yellow face. Their wings have greenish-black flight feathers and black coverts with yellow fringes. It is the most common pet Parrot, and has been bred in captivity since 1850. Budgerigars are relatively easy to care for, and can be taught to speak, whistle tunes and play with their owners. They thrive on the mental stimulation of toys and interaction with humans.
